His tic-tac's baffle me, his substitutions make me cry(Faye-WTF???) and his dress sense makes me aroused. However, the man has asked for this season to be judged on. After a fuc**ng shocking start, he has now brought in 6 first team players. This is his only chance to succeed or fail at Newcastle. I don't think Freddo will give him any more than this season to prove himself. If we have a shite season(similar to last) then he'll get the bullet. If he has a great season(top 6, a cup?) then we're all winners. After our last few signings, I think relegation is no longer a concern. Let's just give the man our backing for 1 more season. He can have no more excuses-he'll be given th time he asked for(1 full season), and the players he's asked for. Judge him after this season(I never thought I'd say that!). Or not. But lets hope Owen can do it and turn us around - my fear is though that Owens immediate impact will only be papering over the chasm of failure that is Souness. I don't doubt for a single moment that the players we have aren't capable of finishing top 4 - I just know the manager isn't capable of taking us anywhere near that position. Well he's got rid of the one's he wanted to, and we have 8 of his signings (Babayaro, Boumsong, Emre, Parker, Luque, Owen, Shearer & Dyer [who he gave new contracts to]) as regular starters when fully fit.
