4 days in London

I suppose it might be worth getting an Oyster card and loading it up with pre-pay, as you'll be capped at a bit less per day than what you'd pay on a paper ticket.

That said, if you're only in town for a few days, it might just be easier to buy a day travelcard for whatever zones you need every day. Also, if you're taking the train out to Charlton for the game, you can't use Oyster on national rail services anyway so you'd need a zone 1-4 paper travelcard for that and getting back into town afterwards.

Oh, and day travelcards are cheaper if you buy them after 9.30am, so that's a good excuse to take it easy at the breakfast buffet.

Confused? You will be...

Bobby, get an Oyster card if you can. single journey without them are £4 now!!! Thats a one stop journey...

Look on the TFL site, if you are planning lots of tube journeys before 9.30am then it could cost you a load.

But again, if you know you're going to be out and about a lot and it's all going to be after 9.30am, the £4 single fare thing isn't going to worry you as you can just get a £5.10 off-peak travelcard anyway. Saves paying the £3 deposit on an Oyster card too.

I understand Oyster completely. More proof that Aussies are more intelligent than Geordies.
