Sunderland to rock Newcastle with Duff offer

tribalfooball.com - March 11, 2007

Sunderland boss Roy Keane is ready to shake things up in the Northeast.

If the Black Cats win promotion, Keane is set to test Newcastle's resolve over winger Damien Duff, says the People.

Duff has great respect for his former Ireland teammate and Toon could have a battle hanging onto the ex-Chelsea man should Keane come knocking in June.

Ooo, and Tribal are usually spot on...

... hehehe :baby:

Aye, no reason to suspect he won't come good for another team but has done very little here and unfortunately theres less chance of this changing if he continues to be picked on the basis of his name/reputation alone (as often happens). That's never a healthy situation.

£6 million would suit me and if it was the mackems that came knocking I'd be holding out for every last penny-they'd be at a disadvantage because their pride is such that they'd probably feel they had to match the asking price otherwise they'd be seen as Mickey Mouse.

I personally think he will improve and start playing well again.

He could do the former and still not fulfil the latter the way he's been playing.

This one is about them bidding for a Toon player though. The source isn't the best like.

Another was about the three legends.

Re: Dyer, he's not worth the wages and hasn't been for 5 years.

Regardless, he's still one of the better players in the squad, and we'd be daft to sell him. Especially now we've got him fit.

I didn't mean give him away for free, naturally. Get some money in and surely we can attract a good midfielder for those wages.

It was more in response to Bobby's post than yours but I still don't think he is one we should be looking at selling at present.

Be stupid to sell Dyer, he's one of the most important players we have now, whether people are happy with that or not!

We've finally got him fit, because if you look at it, since this return he has not picked up a genuine injury from playing. He got poked in the eye and cut his leg open, but he hasn't picked up hamstring and muscle injuries which is agreat sign.

What wages is he on, and who could we get for a similar price?
