Happy Face 29
From .com... New CEO revealed Club announcement, Monday: The board of Newcastle United PLC is pleased to announce that Mr.Steve Walton will be joining the Company in May 2007 as PLC Chief Executive. This move is designed to strengthen the existing management team in view of a number of proposed future developments in and around St.James' Park. No we've never heard of him either - please email us here if you know SW's background. As for who he replaces, our reading of the 2006 Annual Report is that Freddy Shepherd has been acting in a combined role as both PLC Chairman and Chief Executive. He's assisted by a Chief Operating Officer - Russell Cushing - who isn't a PLC Director. There been times that I thought I couldn't last for long But now I know that I'm able to carry on It's been a long, a long time coming But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will Edited March 5, 2007 by Happy Face

Matt 0
Does that make him freddies boss? Well, he's there to tell Freddie and the other club directors how to run the club and is accountable to the shareholders who can vote him out. Those shareholders being for the majority, Fred and Doug. It won't change the overall direction of the club in any way, Fred still has the big stick but he may bring along good contacts and some fresh insight for the business, especially considering how long most of the directors have been there. Lets hope he lasts longer than David Stonehouse did.
