I reckon people with the most blinkered musical taste, by definition, have the worst taste. I think it's people with eclectic and varied tastes have the best taste in music.

 

They take the best from all genres and filter off the dross.

I had Phil Ochs on in the shop. Someone was buying CDs and said 'I have to ask, mate, what's this shit playing now?' I looked down at the CDs he'd just handed me, looked back at him and replied 'to be fair, some people would look at this and ask what this shit is that you're buying.' He agreed. Which is music taste summed up, I feel. Further example; today, playing Ys, I had two people completely baffled/turned off, and another pair utterly besotted.
