Turkey's weird in that respect though, societal attitudes towards homosexuality are often so different to the legislative side of things that you wonder whether they're talking about the same country. Though obviously that doesn't mean you're not absolutely right in terms of the government welcoming what the EU has to say. Although I doubt there'd be a problem with gay groups attacking orthodox-religious groups who then clash with the police in Iran, they would have just hung them in the first place so ensuring a nice peaceful county. Such an admirable way of doing things, eh? Thinking about it Nigeria is likely to make homosexuality a criminal offence soon, off for a visit to see how it’s done then are we?
