Isegrim 9777
Round of 16 Toon v AZ Alkmaar Maccabi Haifa FC v Espanyol Rangers FC v Bordeaux/Osasuna SC Braga v Tottenham Sevilla FC v Shakhtar Donetsk RC Lens v Bayer Leverkusen Paris SG v Benfica Celta Vigo v Werder Bremen The game against Alkmaar won't be easy. I've put the teams I think who are going to qualify in bold. As I said in the other thread recently, we can win against any team, but also lose, especially if we don't really improve with the injury list easing. Bremen look distinctly ordinary after the winter break, nearly threw their comfortable lead from the first leg away and it needed some great goalkeeping for them... Wouldn't mind Huntelaar here Rosendings who just moved to Bremen from Ajax said before the first leg that ten Cate doesn't seem to be a great fan of him, so there might be the good chance to move for him. Not that I expect Newcastle to be so clever...

As I see it, it's a 50-50 game.

Zathras 244
While we're lucky that Bremen and Sevilla play each other, I have serious doubts about getting past AZ. I could see them dumping us out.

Gemmill 44891
We've definitely got a chance. The next tie will probably be a harder game than any we'll get in the QF. That's the thing with the UEFA Cup, there's plenty mediocre sides still in it even at this stage.

Barney 0
I saw Seville in their first leg win, and they were quality. Played some gorgeous football on the deck and have some quality players. Their 2 wingers in particular. I reckon they'd hammer us if we came up against them. Saying that though, I can't imagine too many teams wanting to play us. MattM4 0
Same here really. We've been on this road before. Bordeaux got proper slapped in the face last night... Osasuna scored in the 120th minute
Dr Gloom 21924
it's winnable but i still don't fancy our chances. i think we'd jelly it if we came up against the likes of seville, leverkusen or benfica. is there a draw for the round after az or is it a predetermined route to the final? I think there's a draw after this round which then predetermines the route to the final. Let's not get ahead of ourselves though, eh?
