Similar problems here like. On a wireless network, 4 computer and we're all having the identical problem.

 

Says on the bottom icon Speed: 54.0 Mbps, which is what it always said when it was working fine.

 

Now you click on a website, and it either doesn't load any pictures (BBC is a good example) or in the case of message boards, it loads half the page, then you have to keep pressing refresh to see the whole page.

 

On Tiscali by the way, phoned them and they said it was fine at their end. Any ideas?

 

What speed connection are you on?

 

The 54.0 Mbps is just the speed between your computer and your router.

 

Of the 4 people using it are any of them constantly downloading torrents etc?

 

Do this speed test

And post the results.

Can you do this and post the results please, will give an indication of what might be going on..

 

Close all programs down that use your internet connection.

 

Then click on Start - Run - type in 'cmd'

 

In the window that opens type in 'netstat -a' and hit enter/return.

 

And count how many TCP and UDP listings are in the list..

 

Then type in 'netstat -s' hit enter/return

 

This will display quite a bit of info, if you go down to where it says 'TCP Statistics for IPv4'

 

And then list the info given there here.

 

Make sure you close all programs down that use your internet connection when you use the netstat utility.

We download torrents, but certainly not constantly. I download Lost once a week, and probably 1 album a week, other housemates probably do the same, if not less.

 

I'm at the library at the minute but i'll do the test when i'm home. Cheers

Go with SKY. They send fucktards to install it but once its up and running you wont have any problems
