There is allways uproar in the shinton hoose on pancake toosday.

 

I insist on broon sauce on me pancakes Mrs S insists on sugar.

 

Pancakes should be savoury. <_<

I remember being on a hen do in Edinburgh and there was a crepe takeaway van in the Grassmarket ?? Had a cheese and onion one ....it was lush at four o clock in the morning :mellow:

Aye, they are either sweet or savoury when you get them abroad. Not that Edinburgh's 'abroad' but you know what I mean.

Sort of, in that it precedes it. You're supposed to show abstinence in Lent though (if you're a practising Christian) not eat sticky buns - the cross is a clue in relating them to Easter :mellow: Strictly speaking though, pancakes are a pre-Lent thing, not a Lent thing, as it starts on Ash Wednesday (tomorrow).

Lemon juice and sugar.

 

Although an all-day breakfast pancake is cracking. But that's the only exception.
