Still a wanker in my eyes with only his interests at heart, dead brother or not, boo fucking hoo ;)

I agree he's not too arsed about the club but howay man, there's no need for that.

Err, no disrespect to Babayaro and the sad situation he found himself in, but it's still no reason for talking his ordinary performance up. As much as I have seen from the game, he was defensively his usual self, especially in regard to the first goal and how easy players could go past him...

Wasn't Babayaro's fault at all tbh, caught off guard by the shambolic kick from Harper. All Pennant had to do was put it past Babayaro as he was facing the goal and Babayaro still had to turn around and chase him.

I think stevie harper should take the blame for that, his kicking was awful all day.

seeing as I was there, he never gave pennant a look in, and he looked better than any other left back we have had this season when going forward, probably was only an ordinary performance, but by babayaros standards, it should be applauded

If the reports are right he chose to play therefore he can't expect any sympathy and won't be getting any from me, he's a bastard mercenary

Surely the fact that HE chose to play and didn't just play because he was told he had to is the part that earns him a little respect? ;)

I think Roeder was off his tits playing him tbh. Fair do's he did okay in the end, but what if he hadn't. You can imagine the press conference after the match if things had gone tits up: "Erm........Glenn, why were you playing Babayaro the day after his brother died? Didn't you think his concentration might have suffered a bit?"

Take it you'll be showing up for work the day after an immediate member of your family dies then?

Just think he deserves a bit of sympathy because his brother just died, that's all.

Feck me respect where its due. Not for his game but for the fact he just lost his brother. Two completely different issues. He might not deserve respect for his footballing efforts (at times), but I was certainly saddened to hear of his loss.

I was just astonished that he played him, particularly against the likes of Liverpool, in the form he's in and the form they're in, against the backdrop of him having lost his brother the day before. It's one thing Baba saying he's up for playing but it doesnt mean he should play and I just thought it was an unecessary risk by Roedent.

Fair enough if you want to interpret it in the way you have, but I just think it was the sort of management decision that could have cost us big.

Obviously fair do's to Baba like and all due respects to him at all times. That's a separate issue entirely.

Who is saying that btw?

The masses.

No one on here then. Thought not ;)

The toontastic masses, I meant. There have been ample 'Roeder is too cautious! He needs to take more risks!' cries. And now he gets derided for taking a risk that actually paid off.

Have there? Genuine question, as I don't recall it being a particularly common criticism of him.
