geordieshandy 0
And what infrastructure? I doubt their facilities compare to ours Light years ahead of us in terms of back room methods and sports science tbh, its not luck that they can prolong the careers of the 30+ brigade whereas we struggle to keep half of our squad fit. most of that is down to the club personel not physical facilities which we have in a bundance we won't get that right until we stop rotating the staff every 2 or 3 seasons Personel and there not being a nightlife in Bolton. Agreed on the revolving door policy of staff though.

But this is as a result of 'planning' and having consistency in the backroom staff. When Roeder took over he spoke a lot about having a structure within the club which would help with these sorts of issues but so far we've yet to see any evidence of this 'plan'. LeazesMag 0
It looks like Bolton have already made a summer-signing of a centre-half, now that's planning well, if he's crap, it isn't really is it You could also say, 91 clubs aren't "planning" Well I never, it looks like I built a soap-box for Leazes Mag to climb upon and start to spout off again with his nonsensical orations. Gerald Cid is 23 years old and plays for Bordeaux in the French Ligue 1, and they are in 9th. place so perhaps Sam might turn out to be better planner for the future than Glen is. and your knowledge and experience of Newcastle is what exactly ? Apart from making knee jerk reactions without giving the current manager a chance to see if his "plan" works that is
LeazesMag 0
Have a look at how much we have spent compared to the likes of Bolton and I would suggest that goes someway to explaining how. I don't know anything about the player tbh but Allardyce doesnt often sign poor players. Why is any player allowed to leave a club? Sol Campbell left Arsenal on a free is he shit like? Allardyce and Bolton clearly have had a plan although im sure you will still claim they didn't it all just fell into place out of luck and the fact they couldn't splash out vast sums. He has also signed a 20 year old defensive midfielder who is captain for his club but im sure he just got lucky this player became available and the lad is probably shit anyway. Listen Jon, stop mentioning Bolton and Allardyce together, because the "plan" you harp on about isn't Boltons "plan", its Allardyces' judgement. When Allardyce goes, will Boltons "plan" continue to put them where they are now ? Unlikely. Think about it. Every club appoints a manager on a contract for 2, 3, 4, or 5 years who exercises his judgement, coaching and playing strategy and ideas. Some of them have good judgement but in terms of winning trophies, qualifying for europe, gaining promotion from the lower leagues, the vast majority of them don't. If you really want to call it a "plan", then they ALL have their "plan", but only a handful of them have a good "plan". The "plan" doesn't guarantee success, it is down to the ability of the manager. I really can't explain this any more. If you can't see the difference ....... Listen leazes, You are sooo boring its unreal Some clubs appoint the right manager some clubs appoint someone who is clearly the wrong manager and then go for the easy option, which one are we? sorry Jon, but you have your head so far up your arse its unreal. Only 4 teams have qualified for europe more than us in the last decade. Fact. Bad "planning" ....... Get a mind of your own and stop spouting these daft cliches just because others do, is my advice

Noelie 103
and your knowledge and experience of Newcastle is what exactly ? Surely this question can't be directed at me LeazesMag!! Surely you can't be asking a 74 year old Geordie gadgee what his knowledge and experience of Newcastle is!! A lad who was weaned on Stubbins & Milburn, Brennan & Mitchell, was in his late teens and early twenties when we won the Cup 3 times, stood in the Gallowgate end in the rain & snow on more than one occasion. Followed the Lads in any which way I could since a schoolboy(before you were born) and never faltered in my support no matter where I was, who was playing, who was in charge, and what division they were in. I think I should take me soap-box away so you can't clamber up on it to spout your egotistical pedantic rhetoric which for the most part is hypothetical nonsense. Strange, because I think KK bandwagon jumpers are cocks. And I also think people who went to watch the toon pre-1992 who are so blind they cannot see the huge change for the better in the approach of the club since then are also cocks. I also think people who they "supported the club before Keegan" and didn't, and know the didn't, are the biggest cocks of all. So, you're a cock whichever of those camps you fall in. Strange, it would appear you can't add up, if you think I was born after Mitchell and Milburn played for the club I don't know how long you have lived in Canada, but it is fair to say winning the cup 3 times in 5 years must have been brilliant. Assuming you have lived in Canada for a substantial part of the 50 years that have passed since that time, you will be slightly oblivious to how far the club had dived, until 1992. That is my point. The above post is true, the depths the club plummeted to that I describe is true, the club we have now is down to this board and the appointment of Keegan which set the ball rolling. And the statistic that only 4 clubs have qualified for europe more than us in the last decade is FACT.

Your perception seems to be, basically, anybody who isn't you is a cock... and yet you don't see the paradox. we've stagnated for the last 10 years or so, we've not progressed one step and in fact I'd say we've stumbled back a step or two. The quality of football being played has worsened, the quality of footballers at the club has worsened, the fact you cling desperately to the FACT that we've played in europe simply compounds your head in the sand attitude. grow up man, you're like a seven yr old who simply says "I know you are, but what am I" as his stock reply to any challenge
