Whatever you do, don't take forever with every question. It's really annoying when you've got an answer and you're sitting round with nothing to do - especially if everyone else is using their phones to Google the answer.

Our works Quiz have an on the spot round where one person from each team has to answer questions on their own.

Also they are allowed to play a joker for one of the rounds of the quiz, where they get double points for that topic.

The quiz I go to has 5 rounds - general knowledge, sport, music, film/tv and a specialist round which is just 10 questions on whatever the quizmaster felt like asking questions on that week, normally something very obscure. I think an extra round would be beneficial.

The one I go to (and occasionally organise) has the following format:

50 general knowledge questions, including:

- 5 music questions at no. 10, 20 etc. to break things up a bit, give people time to go to the bar/toilet, etc.

- 5 picture questions dotted throughout, provided on a separate sheet at the start

- a given number of "doubles" (usually 5 or 6, depending on how many the quizmaster could be bothered to come up with), being adjacent questions with the same or a very similar answer. For example, question 1 might be "What's the longest river in Italy?" and question 2 "What's the name of the little red Teletubby?", both answers being "Po". Adds a neat little brainteaser option to proceedings and gives you a chance to make inspired guesses, although can be a little obscure/forced.

plus

- usually one anagram (famous person, place name etc.)

- often one wordlink (i.e. "which word can be placed either before or after these words to form another word?")

It seems to work OK, even if it no doubt sounds horrendously confusing.

I think you should have a game of bingo after every 10 questions personally. Eh, Meenzer?

Oh god, I forgot about Jonny and his gay bingo.

He hasn't done it for weeks now. In a sulk after nobody wanted to play. <_<

 I suppose it gets easier with practice and habit and all that. It's easy enough if you're only doing it once every couple of months, but if you're going to be organising it every week then an easier format would be to your advantage, I agree. <_<

Jonny has permanently been burned into my brain for better or worse, as the guy that tried to grab my balls after feeling me up. I still don't know whether to take it as a compliment or not.

My dad used to do a quiz.

He used to do a name the people round.

Basically he'd spend hours cutting famous people out of newspapers, and sticking them on a sheet of paper and number them.

You just get people to stick the names beside each number.

Simple, and you don't really have to put too much thought into it.

Then you'd best show up again some time to find out for sure.

You could print off some of your drunken threads off here and challenge the teams to make sense of them. <_<

Was the person that wrote this sentence:

- a 4 year old?

- special  ?

- from Felling?

eeh you are just so funny you are <_<
