Fop 1
You had to look it up man, after you used it. You can have the victory like. If you don't look up googled quotes you're a moron tbh, 9 times out of 10 they are picked paragraphs that don't mean what people are implying they mean when read in context with the full text. And not surprisingly this was one of the NINE times out of 10 where that WAS the case. I resent that It referred to the exact meaning of the phrase. People who use it to mean sore loser do exist but they are not using the phrase correctly as backed up by wikipedia and yourself. As I said I think in the court of "grammar" nazism that fair or common useage would apply. It's interesting you admit you looked it up and purposely excluded that bit though (and I do hope you'll be down on those that use "craic", just as hard. ). Guest Patrokles
I'm a little suspicious about the way that alex makes friends by being unbearable and mean, then saying sorry. I read somewhere that someone has a theory about how on a date if you disagree with someone incessantly for the first half, then suddenly start being nice, they like you more. No use of pop-psychology here kiddah I just don't like backing down tbh. Which can lead to an unbearably boring argument when I encounter someone of the same ilk. Then I have a word with myself and back down, if I think they're probably ok that is. Plus, I'm normally half-joking anyway, which is often difficult to convey in text. If I think they're a twat, I normally keep going. I don't think you or Fop are twats, ok? I'm prepared to be proven wrong though.

ewerk 31641
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/6345871.stm Striker Obafemi Martins looks set to be banned from Nigeria's national team for missing Tuesday's clash with Ghana. Newcastle United released the striker for the game but Martins travelled to Lagos to be with his sick mother. His absence has infuriated the football authorities in his country, who say a severe punishment will deter others. "We have issued him a seven-day ultimatum to defend his gross act of indiscipline," Nigeria FA boss Sani Lulu said. "He had several days to decide on being with his mother and instead of informing coach Austin Eguavoen he left everyone waiting. "Whatever happens, even if we have to consider his action on compassionate ground, he will still serve a severe punishment for a total lack of respect. "Hopefully, his punishment will serve as a deterrent to others. Nigeria coach Austin Eguavoen, who was equally livid for the striker's no-show during the 4-1 defeat to the Black Stars, says Obafemi acted unprofessionally. "Martins was called up to the squad two weeks before the game and Newcastle released him for that purpose yet he flew straight to Lagos," Eguavoen fumed. "Such a ridiculous act is highly unprofessional and the highest level of indiscipline and disrespect. "All he needed to do was make a single phone call but he never thought it wise to reach us. "I think he deserves whatever punishment is meted out to him." Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder tried to explain the situation that Martins had taken advantage of a Fifa "free day" to bring his mother to England for medical attention. But the striker's absence has been greeted with severe criticism back in Nigeria, as the local media slammed him for staying away. Local media say Martins was nearly mobbed by angry fans at the departure hall of the Lagos International Airport on his way back to England two days ago. Good news for us if he misses a few internationals because of this.
