The Fish 11063
as the resident Comedy connoisseur I'd say he is better suited to quick bursts than long shows imo His jokes tend to be a little drawn out, we got the punchline two minutes ago, you needn't go on mate. I do think he's funny and I do enjoy his stuff, sometimes I'll get a bit bored during his set which is never a good thing. However when he gets on a good run I don't think there's many better at a stream of conciousness. He's similar to Izzard in that regard, although Izzards "Random ramblings" are scripted and as such there should never be drawn out as they often are. The big problem with reviewing a stand up is, in my opinion, the fact DVD's and even listening to it over the radio doesn't do the show justice. There's something about being there that makes things funnier. Maybe it's that you spent £15 to get in, you're expecting to laugh, there's a room full of people laughing too and You've been "warmed up" by someone else, you're not just dropped in at the deep end. End of the day I'll wager he's made a lot of people laugh and made a fair whack of cash off it, in a career that has so many hopefulls, but comparatively few real success stories... so he can't be that bad

Thanks Cath - might go see him in either Wollongong (see my mum) or Newcastle (go see the old hoose) when he is here. Taking missy away this weekend (can't say where as she has taken to reading here on occasions) but while we are away we are off to see the violent femmes and in march we've got tickets to see the dears one night and elbow the next - looks like a busy March! Very busy! Despite what the tossers in this thread have said, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Ross Noble live so I'd definitely recommend you catch him whilst he's there. And if Miss M is reading this - have a faaaabulous birthday honey!
Gemmill 47001
Was definitely funny at the City Hall. And I'm not a fan of wackiness, craziness, or jumping around. The bloke was funny for what he said, not the way he carried on. FACT.
GeordieMessiah 2
Random, uninteresting contribution but...here goes: I nearly ran Ross Noble over last summer during the Edinburgh Fringe. Silly twat stepped out into the road in front of me. Ironic, considering I was off to see a comedy show myself, and later discovered he was actually making his way to the same venue to get ready for his own show. Being such a natural comedian, I guess he must have known. my - he's such a clown. Genius.
Kevin Carr's Gloves 4063
Comedy is so subjective it is unbelieveable. I doubt anyone on here could name a comedian who everyone like. With the poss exception of the big yin and even he can miss on a bad day. I like Ross but he's a mate so no surprise there.

Meenzer 15827
Lennon is seething. I reckon she'd pull a patient's life support for a Ross Noble jibe. You can imagine the terror and feigned laughter when she whips her stand up DVD out. Well it'd scare the life out of me.
Tom_NUFC 0
I'm listening to Ross Noble at the City Hall, and it's definitely the night I was at. Although the order's jumbled up. The lass with the shoe he signs was at the start of the second half. But on the radio its near the start.

Yeah thanks for that. he was great when I saw him, but by god you could be in for some fun being on the front row! I think he tailed of half way through the second half but for the first hour he was talking the piss out of a couple of blokes on the front row and came up with some excellent stuff!
