zico martin 95
Just had Sugar Ray Leonard on Talksport saying that series 3 of the Contender will be based on Heavyweights ! Can't wait ! great stuff, i am excited as hell now! I cant understand why sky havent commissioned an english version of this tbh. It seems that since the days of bruno, mcguigan etc the sport has been in decline and its not PC enough for a lot of people these days. We need some more boxing superstars! How many world champions could most people name in the street these days? I think the whole of boxing needs a bit of a shot in the arm and anything to get more of the public back into it has to be a good thing.
Guest alex
Quite like the Contender, I think it's partly down to the fights being over fewer rounds so they go 'hell for leather'. I think the decline of boxing is more down to it not being on terrestrial telly much btw. And the ridiculous amount of governeing bodies / world champs at each weight. I was talking to my mate about this the other day and I said Bruno would be a genuine contender and probably champion, he reckoned Gary Mason would be a genuine contender. It's only funny because it's true.

I like the cinematography used to capture the fights, clever use of slow-mo and camera angles, makes the fight more exciting. Fewer rounds helps as well of course. I don't think the Brits could do it right though, We'd have Ross Kemp instead of Sly and Cwith Eubank instead of Sugar

Jimbo 175
An incredible fight, I've not enjoyed a fight like that since Gatti Vs Ward, excellent fight but too poor fighters in my opinion, they were just "wind-milling" at eachother ! sweetleftpeg 0
Aye, I think it was a glorious slugfest rather than technically brilliant. Still, fantastic to watch.
