IrishMag 0
Shay Given has yet again won the Irish player of the year. Not hard seeing as he is our only world class player but once more he kept us in many games, including the 1-0 defeat in Germany where he pulled off a number of impressive saves. Sir Bobby Robson won the International Personality Award, and I hate to say he doesn't look as healthy as he did but still as vibrant as ever, an absolute inspiration. Reading striker Kevin Doyle won the Young Player of the year after his impressive and rapid rise from domestic football with Cork City, to being one of the Premierships most impressive young players at Reading. Well he's not young and he's beat cancer for the 3rd time now, looking good considering I guess.
Barney 0
I thought that the show itself was a bit of a joke. Also, the goal of the year was a bit crap. Not a shocker really after the crap of the last year.

IrishMag 0
Duff was in the shortlist with Doyle and Shay. Didn't realise that, shows how bad a year it was for Ireland

Barney 0
To be honest(tbh), Duff was once again one of our better players over the last year. When on form, he's one of only 2 or 3 top class players capable of playing at the very highest level. He's Irelands "go-to-guy" as himself and Keane are our only creative players. I do like Keane and you are right in what you say but for me he will only ever bloody produce in friendlies, when was his last competitive goal against decent opposition? Hopefully Duff will put in a decent performance, despite the opposition, tomorrow night. He's due one.
