West Brom have suspended goalkeeper Russell Hoult following newspaper reports about his private life.

It is alleged that Hoult, married with two children, was filmed on a mobile phone having sex with a woman as part of a threesome with one other man. The film is reported to have been spread when the mobile was lost by its owner.

The 34-year-old has been first choice since Tony Mowbray took over as manager at The Hawthorns in October. But the club today confirmed he will not figure in Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round tie with Wolves at Molineux, with Swiss international Pascal Zuberbuhler expected to move up from the bench for the Black Country derby.

"Goalkeeper Russell Hoult has been suspended by West Bromwich Albion pending further enquiries by the club into newspaper articles this week," read a club statement.

Hoult, who is also alleged to have sent naked pictures of himself to a mistress in 2005, was previously fined £300 for kerb crawling in 2000.
