Guest Patrokles
Glenn Roeder: "And while Gavrancic is not coming, this does not mean we have slackened off in our efforts to bring a couple of players in before the transfer window closes next Wednesday. Alan Oliver: However, I get the feeling that Roeder still hopes to bring in a couple of loan signings - a striker and a defender - before the transfer window closes at midnight on Wednesday. Gemmill 47909
Came on the heels of the feeling that we wouldn't be signing Gavrancic. The bloke is such a penis.

Guest Patrokles
Am I right in thinking we can sign players on loan anytime anyway? Don't think so. I think that only applies to clubs lower than the Premiership.

Aah, I was thinking specifically of Crossley*, but he went to a lower division team. *Not signing him btw Edited January 25, 2007 by alex
Rob W 0
what worries me is that AO really thinks he's a great investigative reporter............................. I always expect him to come out with "SHOCK BREAKING NEWS!!! - NUFC play at SJP......" He's reached a new low of late imo. He's mates with Roeder for one thing, which makes any notion of impartiality even more of joke than it ever was with him, and all he does now is say "I can reveal story X in paper Y linking player Z with Newcastle is untrue". Aye, that does my fucking head in. I'm more than capable of reading a rumour in another newspaper and dismissing it myself. For this bloke to take it upon himself to rubbish stories in other papers when he's got fuck all worthwhile reporting himself is a disgrace. Just because he has Roeder's ear and can ask him about these things he genuinely thinks it's newsworthy. SMALL-TIME REPORTER SCOTCHES TRANSFER RUMOUR EXCLUSIVE! Brilliant. The Pulitzer beckons. Fop 1
Am I right in thinking we can sign players on loan anytime anyway? Am I right in thinking this means no signing at all and maybe no loans either within the window? (frankly I'm more than a little confused at just what the feck is or isn't going on )
