The Fish 11127
Music 70's, Fashion 70's Nightlife 90's Supporting NUFC 90's you as a person 70's Can't really talk about music because the only decades I've personally experienced are the 80's, 90's and now. If I had to go for one over the other I'd probably say that the music I'm lsitening to now is so much better than the previous decades. Fashion is definitely this decade. 80's was a linear parade of one god-awful fashion disaster after another. 90's was a reaction to the 80's. Nightlife, tough one this. either 90's or now. Probably now, I much prefer the up market bars to the grotty cheese-fests of the 90's... but I was a kid in the 90's and as such I was having fun finding out what I did or did not like. NUFC, well it has to be the 90's. but I doubt you'll find many on here that can disagree.. it was the closest we've been to succesful for most of us. as a person I'd say now. I'm settled and know what I will and will not tolerate. Makes life easier. (also, no responsibilities )

Guest alex
Find any which decade was best-type questions a bit strange as (for example) 1989 was just like 1990 but fuck all like 1982 in loads of ways. The mid 90's were canny though.
JawD 99
Music - Id probably say now, only that as you get older your musical taste tends to broaden. So there is more I can listen to and enjoy now than say in the 80's. When you think of music in the 80's and 90's and what was considered "pop" then Id say it was all trash. Fashion - Well, in the 70's my Father chose what Id wear, 80's I wasnt as bothered. By the 90's I at least started to have a clue but Id also say its much better now Nightlife - Can only really say from my experience. Late 90's to early 00's. Thats more age though. Seldom go to a club now. Though Id say best time I had was in my mid to late 20's. Supporting NUFC - Yeah 90's. Too young to know anything else. you as a person - Definately now. Older, wiser married etc. While the 90's may have been "fun", Im much happier with what I have now.

It is my theory that, by and large, trends such as those being discussed in this thread generally tend to follow from the 5th year in a decade, not the 0th--i.e. 1975-1985, 1985-1995 etc. It's a work in progres.s

Guest alex
so name names my Rock 'n Roll friend Black Dog, Orbital, B12, Aphex Twin/Polygon Window (nowt he's done more recently touches the stuff he did then for me), Autecre, Beaumont Hannant, Gas, Speedy J (Dutch but signed to Warp). Probably missed a few tbh. Canny obscure (as I said) but not for the sake of it. Still listen to all that stuff. Little of it is 'bangin' either. Just class electronic music. IMHO lyke. Aye, Orbital are pretty well-known. Superb all the same though. System 7 are always worth a listen too.
