ChezGiven 0
"The Quarry, which Banks was writing before his diagnosis, will be released on 20 June. It describes the final weeks of the life of a man in his 40s who has terminal cancer." Jesus.
Tooj 17
Been reading The Secret Race and I'm finding it brilliant so far. @@Gemmill I think you posted some other cycling books on here that you've been reading - can you recommend any to me? I'm not just on about the whole drug culture of the sport but anything in general.
Gemmill 44879
David Walsh's new one is good but its more Armstrong. I think David Millar's is meant to be very good too. I'm pretty sure wykiki recommended RIIS by Bjarne Riis as well. Anything by William Fotheringham should be good.
Tooj 17
Sure there's one book I've saw before where the cyclist on the front is in a yellow outfit and the background is greyed out. Think it's an autobiography of some kind.
Gemmill 44879
Think that's Ronald McDonald's autobiography.
Park Life 71
I'm giving the new Martin Amis the thumbs up. Very enjoyable, althought not top draw literary wise.
Tooj 17
Think that's Ronald McDonald's autobiography. Might have been this one.

ChezGiven 0
Kill Your Friends by John Niven. Outrageously funny story of a deranged and murderous A&R man at a major record label. Being made into a film next year.
Kevin Carr's Gloves 3894
Waiting for "The Republic of Thieves" by Scott Lynch third in the gentlemen bastard trilogy.
ADP 0
Just finished reading Perfume by Patrick Suskind. Was canny, easy read the prose was quite basic but a vivid, imaginative story nonetheless that does well to use scent in the way that a lot of other books use the other senses. Worth a read, if you aren't put off by the odd bit of fucked up creepiness.
RedfernMag 0
Finished reading The Man In The Hight Castle today. Those last thirty pages were some bat shit stuff like. You mean High Castle? Philip K Dick? Not read that in years. Check out The Three Stigmata of Palma Eldritch & Flow My Tears The Policeman Said if you've not read them yet, two of his best IMO (not that I've read everything by him). Ive just finished I Have America Surrounded - a biography of Timothy Leary. A proper page turner with some fascinating stuff in there for anyone with an interest in the history of LSD & the 60's counterculture.

Dr Gloom 21923
noel's gallagher's comments on book readers people who write and read and review books are f***ing putting themselves a tiny little bit above the rest of us who f***ing make records and write pathetic little songs for a living. The winner of the Pulitzer Prize [for fiction]. What a c***. Whoever that is, has got to be. I don't get it. Book sellers, book readers, book writers, book owners - f*** all of them. Yeah. And I own books! But about shit that happened. That's what I'm talking about. Fifty Shades Of Grey? Fifty shades of s****. I'm not having it. Novels... how could you read that? Happy Face 29
Enjoyed Cool Hand Luke. The author wasn't happy with the film, but I'm not sure what he's unhappy about. Having been a fan of the film for years I think it does the book justice. Reading Noam Chomsky's "Media Control - The Spectacular Achievement of Propaganda" now. More of a pamphlet really. But I'll lap up anything he writes like the left wing bleeding-heart liberal shitbag I am.
Ayatollah Hermione 13866
I don't see Noel complaining about the rhyming dictionary he uses to write his lyrics.
