Optimistic Nut 190
can't understand the neil move at all. i'm sure he'd have been on a decent wedge at liverpool. he's not even that good is he? Neill said in his Press Conference that "the people that mattered" at Liverpool never spoke to him once, and that had Benitez actually spoke in person to him he'd probably have went there, but Curbs told him how important he was going to be for West Ham. Owen said a similar thing last year when we signed him. We laid down the red carpet for him, with Shepherd, Hall, Shearer & Souness all speaking to the player, while Benitez didn't speak to him once. Seems to me they think just because of their name, they'll sign anyone.
Guest alex
The respective £70k and £100k a week deals never came into it.

Neill was also saying that the wages being bandied about were ridiculous and he's within their original wage structure.

I reckon Benitez never spoke to him because he didn't want him. I'm not someone who hates Owen for being injured btw but I reckon he'd rather have gone back to Liverpool but we priced them out of the market. Dunno about Neill although £70k sounds mental and way ott. Wouldn't be surprised if he went for the money though.

rebellious 0
It could be to do with guarenteed First team football. Would he get played every week at Liverpool ? I pay very little attention to them tbh.
Howaythetoon 0
That Cascarino bloke boils my piss, him and a few Toon talking heads. As a rule though I try not to let the media influence me, much less rile me.
