Howaythetoon 0
To be fair, it was only one game. Freak result IMO, not a lot anyone can do about it, time to move on and how we react is more important that how and why we lost. 3 points at home to West Ham will consign this result to where it belongs - the history books. Howay the lads.
Guest stevieintoon
He's a thick cunt but he's right. There was no doom and gloom after our deserved point against Man Utd and win at Spurs. I still think we can beat West Ham, even if it means fucking Ramage off, like what Chelsea done to Beasant after he let 3 easy goals in. Stick Hunty centre half and give Edgar another go, cos he can't be nee worse than Ramage. Can't believe some cunts on here last night slagging Huntingdon like "he'll be at Darlo in 3 years" fucking

@yourservice 67
Black and white tinted spectacles are amazing after a few wins, especially when the opposition should have scored a hat full of chances, man utd had chance after chance and on another day would have wiped the floor with us,then there was spurs, ripped us apart in the first half and also had chance after chance, the wins were great don't get me wrong, but i never got fooled into thinking the corner had turned like some thought.Team's get lucky through a season and we had our luck in those games, last night only showed the reality of how shit those in black and white stripe's are! Maybe so but that doesn't warrant the abuse or ironically the high expectations, if they are all indeed shite and we are shite, why the big outrage when one of those shite players plays shite or when we get beat 5-1. If anything, everyone is overachieving or playing beyond their ability, no?

Howay the lads. Hardly a freak result. A freak result would be if we battered them for 90 minutes and ended up losing 5-1. Birmingham battered us and the 5-1 scoreline didn't flatter them in the slightest.

Guest stevieintoon
No one can predict if these kids are going to be shite, they've played less than 20 fuckin games between them. Look at Steve Howey, fair enough he was played up front, but I honestly thought he was going to be the worst player in the clubs history, 7 years later he was playing for England. HTT raises a good point why have unrealistically high expectations of them anyway? I tell you one thing, say what you like about the kids, and this likes of Ramage, but were the senior pro's any better? I've always thought of Nobby as being technically one of the best the league's ever had, he's back that sentiment up many times, but his passing was and has been utter shite lately. You could rely on Nobby never giving the ball away, he must've misplaced about 20 passes last night at least, he needs to sort it out, as does Martins running down fucking blind alleys every time he gets the ball. Nicky Butt looked like he cared, Dyer ran around a bit but there was fuck all else of note from the senior pro's.

We obviously don't have much money and we're not the attractive draw we once were. Getting on the backs of these youngsters is hardly going to sort the problem out. The one thing Roeder HAS managed to do is get the best out of the limited resources at his disposal. He also seems to have created some team spirit. Of course I'd rather we had Man United's squad but we don't. We can however get the best out of what we do have even if it means the occasional bad result. Spending money we simply don't have will have far worse consequences than sticking with these youngsters and adding to our squad as and when we can. Ally 0
Last night's result reminds me of when Arsenal beat Boro's kids 7-0 last season. They're a talented bunch, but not yet ready for the step up and that game showed them. Obviously Arsenal are totally different to Birmingham, but its the same point imo. Since then Taylor has become a regular, Davies occasionally plays, Cattermole is in and out, and many of the rest have gone on loan. I reckon they'll come good, or at least decent in the future. Optimistic Nut 190
Fair point. And didn't the Man U kids get a 4-1 tonking at Villa on the opening day of the "12-point gap" season? Then again, our youngsters are nowhere near that standard. They're not even as good as the lot that came through early 90s.
