Scottish Mag 3
We had snow for an hour or so on Saturday night around midnight. It lay long enough for some closing time snowball fights amongst the drunken mongs but didn't last long....

luckyluke 2
Nothing in Newcastle upon Tyne proper I like snow too. There was hail and thunder over St James' half an hour ago like. Well I hope it snows properly, we've not had a proper summer for at least 3 years, and we've not had a proper week of snow for longer. 2 years tbh... the 2006 summer piss up was fucking boiling Ah 2006, the World Cup, exams over early, boiling hot summer, went to Berlin then Melt festival in Germany and saw Aphex Twin, lots and lots of drinking and crazy but not very clever sex with my mate's sister. I wish I was a student again.
Guest Stevie
We had a few weeks in 2006 during the WC and that was it. The only proper summers I can remember in the last 20 years were 2003, and 1995. 1995 was fantastic, it was boiling hot for three months, even Ginola liked it. I remember we played Spurs in a 3-3 draw right at the start of May, and it was fuckin boiling right up till we played Boro in late August.
luckyluke 2
It was definitely longer than a couple of weeks. It was roasting the day we played our first game - I remember because I was frantically running around Darlington to get my tyre fixed because I got a puncture. It stayed hot til the end of the tournement, and until I went to Berlin about a week later. I almost died in Germany it was so hot for the week or so I was there and was looking forward to a typical English summer to cool off, but when I got home if anything it was even hotter. The Wigan game was the first game, and I can specifically remember leaving the pub before kick off, giving my coat to my mate cos he had a t shirt on, and I had a jumper on because it was utterly pissing it down. Were Wigan in the world cup like? Now that you mention it I remember August being wetter. June and July were fucking boiling throughout though. I worked in England from July to September and it was more ore less sunny and hot for the whole time. The rain at the Wigan game was more an exemption and even at this day it was rather warm/hot.
