Pegasus Bridge 0
I'm still 100% behind the Roeder, and the large majority of our squad. This is the type of team we've become, we were always going to found out sooner or later. It's going to take a good old spending spree, time, and patience to see a better Newcastle United. I, for one, am prepared to wait. I do not want to see another managerial change, we'll become an even greater laughing stock than now if it comes to that. Still ashamed like. Optimistic Nut 303
As with the Villa 0-3 from 2 years ago, this for me is the reality check. Edited January 17, 2007 by Optimistic Nut
Gemmill 47393
I'm still 100% behind the Roeder till the day he relegates us.. At 1-0 down you were telling us all to chill and how we would come back and win. Now we're going down.

Fop 1
I'm still 100% behind the Roeder till the day he relegates us.. I dunno tbh I think maybe a drubbing has been coming with the threadbare squad... but when you look at the weekend and tonight it's like two different teams playing. TheMoog 0
For me it's not so much Roeder as the chairman not strengthening the squad. IIRC we were paper thin under Souness' reign, we've never strengthen and in fact just got thinner. We'll never regain a decent run of things until we get several more players in. Guest Patrokles
The question is whether Roeder deserves credit for the decent performances/results with the very very meagre resources he's had, and whether this result was a freak, or whether this result is the true reflection of Roeder. I'm willing to lean towards the former. I'd still like to see him given time.

Yes,they are Brums and Spurs in the spuds game they wouldnt have scored a 3rd if they had played all week this game,Brum just took their chances and scored, and tbh we ran out of luck, the fact is we need a class manager,i liked Roeder at the acadamy, and i think we should send him back to it,and bring a real/good manager
Tom_NUFC 0
Last night was awful, but there's no way Roeder's position should be questioned on the back of it. In general, he's doing OK.
Tom 14021
It's retarded to question Roeder's job. Look at the injuries and the fact we played a bunch of kids tbh after Brums undeserved 3rd they gave up look at the injuries ffs

Nor are they being balanced by many particularly outstanding and deserved results either tbh.

A new years day away at Southend would certainly sort you out. That was when we had nice directors who didn't make daft statements to the press, other than "our new stand will be the match of Watford" or "the money we get from Peter Beardsley will pay for a great new stand". A laughing stock. Right. Edited January 19, 2007 by LeazesMag

Kevin Carr's Gloves 4098
Under Roeder we have played dreadful football. We lose posession more than at any time previously. He should tell Given to stop hoofing into there half as it comes back 2 minutes later. We have no direction on the field and no sign of a concentrated build up. Nobody looks comfortableon the ball and they all want to get rid of it asap except milner who runs it into the corner and loses it. Just over 10 years ago we were in the top 3 in the league and playing wonderful football. Now we are barely considered mid league SKY cancels plans to show our game and the football isn't worthy of the name. Fat Fuck Fred has succeeded in reducing our expectations alright if you are accepting this.

Renton 22615
Aye, expectations are well and truly lowered. Instead of comparing us to the heady days of Keegan or even Robson, Roeder and Shepherd apologists compare us to the days under Souness. The irony being we're really not much better than then anyway. Smashing.

Renton 22615
Of course LeazesMag doesn't even do that, he compares the present team to a pre-Sky one 20 years ago. In virtually every post too I might add. And then there's the "if we spend x amount of money" we'll be up there again. Some people need to wake up. We're practically bankrupt. It's not going to happen. Just read in between the lines on what Roeder has said.
