Tooj 17
Having recently acquired ye old Sky+ now I've decided I'm in the market for a DVD Recorder, so obviously all the stuff I tape on there can be transfered to either me laptop or just if I want to ever watch them again without taking up the space on the Sky+. Anyone have any recommendations?

Gemmill 47084
I've got one of these: http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cur_...gory_oid=-30661 And it's good. DivX player as well so downloading stuff and putting it on DVDs is a piece of piss. Now takes about 6 minutes instead of the 5 or 6 hours that it used to. Meenzer 15869
I've been looking at hard drive recorder type things recently, I've got so much stuff taking up space on video that could be converted into a wallet's worth of DVDs. Something with decent editing capabilities is important, hence the need for a HD. Probably just be a skinflint as usual and wait until they come down even further in price though... David Kelly 1280
I would stay clear of JVC ones. The one I have is shite. It's very choosy about which DVD's it will play and seems to fuck up quite often when I just set something away recording and the disk gets full. I would also suggest you are better off with one that takes + dvd's. Mine takes - ones which seem much more difficult to get (especially if your trying to get cheap ones). Tom_NUFC 0
This one's good, its a Panasonic. Not DivX, but it does have DVD RAM. Edited January 17, 2007 by Tom_NUFC
@yourservice 67
Don't go for the Panasonic DMR range that takes the DVD-RAM disc's,mine won't even reconise the disc's anymore, also heard a lot on other forum's about this problem aswell, must be the lazer. Probably a Lite-on DVD-R with H/D is the best bet

Couldn't tell you how good the other functions are, as i've not used it, but i've read good things on AVforums.
