Gemmill 44853
I'll be using it with icefilms and 1channel, with the intention being that I won't need to download at all. As far as I'm aware it'll work fine with those xbmc addons.

JawD 99
aye it'll be grand for that, i've a fairly large library of tv shows/movies to stream from my fileserver so i need something to handle that don't think the PI will do it. Mate has one i'll maybe try get a lend of it to have a nosey. I've had a popcorn for a while now, excellent bit of kit. 2 x 1TB drives connected to it that link through my PC so I can update the files etc. Uses a front end media host / library that auto updates via IMDB to pull through artwork and reviews. OTF 7295
XBMC is very nice. That said I use a Roku 3 (with plex) more frequently as I'm also using it to stream netflix and hulu. Annoyingly my NAS doesn't transcode everything with Plex so I'm running plex on a PC with the contents on the NAS. Main reason I've moved away from XBMC is because of an intermittent hardware fault on the Giada machine that I'm running it on. I have my doubts as to the snappiness of a pi when using XBMC. Cheers Yeh I've a Panasonic Viera - can't remember the exact model but it's 3D & 47'' if that's a clue. I got the matching sound bar for £200 & it's pretty awesome. Virtual surround sound & HD audio but most importantly loud - better than the atrocious speakers most flatscreens are left with anyway. Mines not wireless mind... Gemmill 44853
Raspberry Pi. Gonna set it up with XBMC. Sounds fairly straightforward to do. Got this set up and working. It takes about 20 minutes and now works perfectly with The Openelec version of XBMC on it. I hadn't realised that 1Channel had a subscription feature, so you can add all the shows you're watching to your library and it'll update automatically when a new episode gets aired (by which I mean add the link to a stream, along with episode art etc, rather than download the episode). Anyway aye, for 50 quid it's well worth doing. I haven't tried to set it up with files on my network cos there just isn't any point when everything is available to stream - even stuff for which torrents and usenet are knackered.
