Jimbo have you met some boiler on the net or something? In Houston, I mean.

I've just bought a dell Studio 15 i7. Upgraded the screen to full HD and got some sort of deal on a 4 year warranty. Just under 900 quid in total.

I'm torn between Studio 15 Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Mobile Processor (1.6GHz, turbo up to 2.8GHz, 6MB L3 Cache), and the weaker Studio 15 Intel® Core™ i3-330M (2.13Ghz, 4Threads, 3MB cache).

Any advice lads?

Yeah get the better one. And upgrade the screen to full HD for 70 quid.

Plus if you buy now it's got a ton of special deals on it (they were meant to expire on 31/3 and rolled on to this week too so they might not be that "special".

By the way I specifically need the better one for my purposes. If you're just browsing the web etc then the other one will be fine I'm sure. I would price both up though and see what the difference is with all the offers on the i7.

Yeah I tried adding all the kit to the lesser one and it works out the same price as the better one, so no great value to that. I need it for web-browsing, running a few Office programs at the same time and watching tv/films. Oh and playing FM2011 of course.

the top bomber one impresses me with it's spec, but I'm not sure if I'm being rational about what it is I actually need.

(with what I consider is my essentials, the weaker one comes away £150 cheaper)

November? We might still have a chance of staying up at that point, the mood will be good

You could of course meander to London for the last BBQ of the year?

Speaking of shirts - did someone post a link recently to cheap England shirts? Both the kids are wanting one in time for the WC and there's no fucking way I'm going to Sports Direct!

Train tickets for a glamorous trip from Lewisham to Knutsford next weekend. Now I just need to find a nice bottle of whisky to take with me. Anyone know if any of the big soopamarkets/off-licences have any decent offers on at the minute?

D'you mean Tuesday? If so, in Reading. No plans for the Plymouth game yet if that's what you mean.

Had a few of them and the Glenlivet one in particular is a good offer. Love the Macallan one as well. Lifted that list off a Whisky forum I sometimes go on which is good for keeping up to date with supermarket offers. I also recently bought a bottle of 15 year old Ben Riach, finished in a Madeira cask, from the Whisky shop in the Metro Centre. Very nice. The shop's a bit cheesy and overpriced but it does have some out of the ordinary whiskies.
