Materialism: The "What have you bought?" Thread

The las time I seen someone sporting aviators was the Breakdance days at Tiffanys on a Saturday and the kid looked like a cunt then.

The only time I wear sunglasses is when I'm fishing, in a car or abroad, feel a bit of a pric tbh

I'll wear them in the bright summer months or those winter days when the sun is either bouncing off surface water or snow.

I get headaches when it's bright outside, quite bad ones as well. A medic-friend says it's because I'm "photo-sensitive", but surely that is just describing the symptom and not the cause?

How severe are they? Are they all over your head or just in one part? Do you have any other problems, e.g. vomiting, visual changes, dizziness?

Enough to prohibit me doing anything else until I get out of the sun or can shade my eyes some how. It's mainly behind the eyes. What do you mean by visual changes and yeah I get dizzy

By visual changes I mean blurring or distorted vision, funny colours, that kind of thing. Sounds a bit like migraines but if they go once you get out of the sun then probably not.

Many people have headaches that are brought on by certain triggers. Whether you need the diagnosis of "photo sensitive" that your friend has labelled you is debatable, but doctors etc do like to medicalise things rather unneccessarily at times. If you can control them with sunglasses/hats then I'd stick with those methods rather than go down the route of medication.

The only funny colours are spots.

I'd be happy to stay with Aviators, tbh, for one they cover enough of my vision to keep away the headaches, for another I look cool as fuck

I used to get terrible migraines that resulted all of the above but with passing out and loss of speech included.

Plus it made my vomit pink

Fucking hell man Fish. How tiresome are the bald gags like, especially as you're not exactly showing a full head of hair yourself.

It's not my fault, I don't know him well enough to go for the personal stuff.

Ong Bak is a bit silly but quality. Better than Saw IV anyway.

Bought The Matrix Collectors Edition for the price of one pound sterling. Also bought The Good, The Bad and The Ugly for £4.

It better be good Jonny. :icon_lol:

If you appreciate real cinema, then you should love it. The scores are beautiful as well as the cinematography. Not to mention everything else. :nufc:

How corny are Ray Ban Aviators btw?

Sorry Brock

They made a comeback...

At least he bought a decent(ish) film this time. :icon_lol:

Yeah, they were alright last year , but Wayfarers are making a comeback this year:

And try polarised sunnies, Fish. They block out the glare and reflections but let the useful light through.

I'll give em a go. But the normal "shades" seem to be sufficient

They're even worse.
