If you are using as intended Im guessing you have this on your plate.

If you want mash then I would have thought a masher was adequate.

this method gets the lumps out in a way that's near impossible with a masher.

Nope: stir then serve. That's the stage at which you'll be stirring in butter/milk/seasoning anyway. Lovely creamy goodness.

Just rice your boiled potatoes directly into the deep fat fryer, best of all worlds.

There's not much gets by you

I was more ascertaining as to why then? Especially as you're normally hanging by the advice of most on this forum when it comes to new purchases.

whisking mash is stupid, you just end up with glue because of all the starch....

Rice, drop of warm milk, butter, salt/pepper, quick mix with a spatula and done.

I sometimes add a touch of nutmeg. :)

Totally by (half) accident it seems I've acquired an extra item I recently purchased. It cost £700 and without going into details I've had a second item delivered, no signing for anything as the the signing machine was broken. Think I'll leave it unopened in passage for a few weeks to see if they twig. If not.......well nice little bogof deal I wasn't expecting.

:)
