Glasgow Mag 0
For the first time in ages I'm driving to a home game, the West Ham match on Saturday. Used to park at the RVI and walk it - but isn't there a multi-storey there that charges a bomb now? Wondered if anyone could advise me where to park - preferrably free/cheap, secure and a reasonable distance from the ground - though don't mind a decent 20 minute walk by any means. Also a decent restaurant for afterwards - Italian I was thinking - any ideas?

Restaurant-wise, if you want Italian try Azzurri on the Quayside or Strada off Old Eldon Square. http://www.strada.co.uk/ Edited January 17, 2007 by catmag
GeordieMessiah 2
Well I used the multistorey at John Dobson Street when I was in Toon before Xmas - bit of a trek, but cheap as chips IIRC...and just near Northumberland Street so canny for centre really. Craig 6707
There's a nice car park under the Milburn. You don't pay a thing to leave it there and the kind souls will even take it to a nice, secure compund for you!

Cheap as chips? It's about £2 an hour. Claremont Road is your best bet as long as you're there for about 1. I think it's 50p an hour.

Tom_NUFC 0
Park at Falconer Street in Shieldfield, then just walk over the footbridge into the City Centre.
Ally 0
I always park in the little pay and display opposite Century FM, its 5 hours maximum I think though. Its a good spot, no one parks there and only about 10-15 mins walk from the ground.

geordieshandy 0
You can park all day at the Northern Stage for £4 on a Saturday, Claremont is about 70p an hour now. There's some 40p parking along Kensington Terrace but only for 5 hours max.
Gemmill 47717
I sometimes pack on Windsor Terrace - is that the one behind Kensington Terrace? Just off Sandyford Road where PwC is?
David Kelly 1309
I know where you can park free in the city centre but there's only about 7 spaces and I don't want anyone to get there before me so I'm not telling. I agree with Cath though about Azzuri and La Toscana just outside the ground is canny too.
geordieshandy 0
Kensington Terrace is just off Claremont Road, take the roundabout at Exhibition Park opposite the RV road. Windsor is on the other side of the GNR.

Haven't eaten in there yet, but really should have a look. Might get me supervisor to shout me a dinner seeing as he's constantly in there, or claims he is. Yeh I used to do that a few years back, but by the time we'd paid for parking and Metro tickets we thought we might aswell drive on for a few more minutes and walk in. Super7 0
I think the car parks by the Civic Centre and Northumbria Uni are usually pretty cheap and are free after 6.30pm.
