Here's what they really do: First, they head to Transylvania and liason with the local vampire hunters. For a small (but not insubstantial) fee, these vampire hunters will kill a local vampire by stabbing him through the chest with a stake. Beforehand, the restaurant will coat the tip of the stake with some garlic oil so when it plunges into the vampire's chest, the garlic oil becomes entwined with the vampire's blood. Then, the hunter brings the vampire corpse back to the restaurant who then carve it up, halal style, draining the blood into a bucket which they then thin out with something scientific and hey presto, you have your true garlic taste. It's totally different to what you get at home so is there a special trick of the trade? They had a company from Ireland manufacture a garlic air freshener. They roast the whole garlic after peeling the outer layer and cut the top off of it with olive oil. Then when they have cooled slightly, they squeeze all of the cloves out. 3/4 of the cloves are then blended in with softened butter. The remainder of the cloves are put aside until the bread is sliced. When they have an order they smash and rub a clove onto the bread before spreading a spatula worth of butter on the bread. Oh, and then they put it under a salamander broiler. You could cook your bread with your oven broiler on high or wrap it in foil and microwave it on high for three and a half minutes.
