Christmas Tree 4839
Fresh Ginger Is there a specialised grater people use for this? Used the normal one last night and it just seams to be shit and clogs up. Also, how long to folks normally keep fresh ginger and is it best stored in fridge or cupboard? Use this: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=251981421 For once I'm not even kidding - it's shocking value, but I use it because I'm lazy and I don't use ginger all that often so most of the fresh stuff tends to get chucked away. It's shredded more coarsely than you'd get with a grater, but it takes seconds to chop it a bit finer with a sharp knife (if required) before chucking it into the pan. Nah, I want to look like a chef and use the real stuff. I tried that Lazy Garlic once and didnt think it was anything like fresh garlic.
ChezGiven 0
Our local supermarket has started stocking jars of ginger from Tanoshi (who do a lush Teryaki marinade). I usually use fresh ginger but this stuff is amazing in all sorts of dishes. Or by itself like with sushi. Not that we eat homemade sushi.

The garlic isn't amazing, I agree. The ginger is fine. As for the first sentence, I refuse to bite.

Christmas Tree 4839
A nice new range of ready meals brought to you by Asda. Fresh not frozen and ready in four minutes. Very low in calories and extremely tasty. While I agree presentation is tricky given that its cooked in a bag and tipped on a plate, if I ordered this in restaurant, paid a tenner and it was neatly presented, I would be very happy. I think it was only £1.50 as well. (Though it could have been £2.50.

Monkeys Fist 43088
While I agree presentation is irrelevant given that its reheated in a bag and tipped on a plate, if I ordered this in restaurant, paid a tenner and it was presented to me, I would rain down hellfire and pestilence on the charlatans in the kitchen. I think it was only £1.50 as well. (Which is £1.49 too much, iyam) Tidied.
