Fop 1
You mean like the wall to wall coverage the rest of us have to put up with when England appoint a manager? Win/lose the Ashes? Win the rugby World Cup? I think that last one is a little harsh. Winning the Rugby world cup is a little newsworthy don't you think?
Gemmill 47427
Basically we're the majority shareholders in this whole UK thing, and the Scots and all the rest are like the annoying blokes who turn up at the NUFC AGM with their 100 shares and try to catch us out with silly questions. Just shush! A rare good point Gemmill. Yeah, except I was taking the piss, you're serious.

Just shush! A rare good point Gemmill. Yeah, except I was taking the piss, you're serious. Obviously it was tongue in cheek, whether the basic message was your opinion or not, what was written was most agreeable. I was talking to a Rangers fan before season started and he was saying he'd be surprised in they weren't at Hampden in May, and I was like "aye Scottish FA Cup Final", and he was like "och no ahm on aboot eh UEFA Cup Finaww ya daft cunt." It would be nice Toon v Rangers like. Walter Smith hasn't done a great deal in his career when you think about it. He inherited one of the best sides in the clubs history, had 10 times as much to spend as Celtic, won a few leagues granted, but then got sacked as soon as Celtic were able to muster any meaningful competition. He went to Everton who were in dissarray, partly due to the Prudhoe alcky who was the previous manager, and he left 4 seasons later and fuck all progress had been made. He was even daft enough to give us £4m back for Big Dunc. He's done reasonably well with Scotland but the whole Rangers squad is shite, and Murray is skint. It's not unrealistic to think they could come fourth this season.

Just shush! A rare good point Gemmill. There are 5m people in Scotland, while there are 51m in England. Sky Sports/Talksport/BBC etc.. are clearly going over the top with this coverage of Rangers for reasons unbeknown to me. If they were that interested in Scottish football they'd have kept the contract for the SPL, Setanta got it for pennies when you think how much SKY invest in other events, and that all points to the fact they don't give a fuck about Scottish football surely? They don't because 99.9% of the English population don't. Scotland is like a bubble, they seem to think the world notices Celtic/Rangers etc... I'll watch any football, but I can't watch that because it's shite and irrelevant and that's all there is to it. The coverage in the media is ridiculous, they don't go over the top when Lyon or PSV appoint a new manager so why bother with this? Because France and Holland are not in Britain maybe... Scottishmag I'm not anti-Scots, but no-one cares down here, if that's arrogant, fine, but most people don't, apart from the odd wank, like the people who fill the Hebburn Orange Order Hall. Maybe they're trying to justify Scottish peoples SKY subscriptions with this coverage, and the token effort of the SFA Cup which would've cost pennies and we only have to endure 6 games a season on it anyway. Guest stevieintoon
I myself am "papist" as are most of my friends, other than Scottish people I know, not one of us gives a fuck about Celtic. These Glaswegians completely overstate their importance, if they didn't exist no one would notice or care, and honestly that's a fact, which is why I'm fucked off with the amount of fucking coverage this Walter Smith fiasco is receiving. JJ 0
I can understand why so few people in England care about Scottish football. I know some do, but I don't blame those who don't. Scottish football isn't great. The reason there is coverage is because there is still some sort of market for Scottish football in Britain as a whole. The viewing figures on Celtic vs Rangers when it used to be live on BBC all over Britain were pretty good. I watched an Old Firm game once in the Irish pub near St James' Park one year and it was pretty packed. There are plenty of people interested in the Old Firm in England. You see no news on Sky Sports about anyone else though as there's no interest. To be fair though, Rangers this season have been no better than Aberdeen, Hearts or Hibs. Nobby 0
and on a joint role, a) you would arguably not have time to fly here there and everywhere to watch potentail players, and imagine the press field day if say, the manager of ManU was also the England manager (ignoring the facts he's a scot at the mo) Keegan did it with Fulham

Guest stevieintoon
Hiddink did it for years with PSV/South Korea/Australia. Toshack did it in the past with Wales as well.
