The Fish 10965
QPR v Newcastle Continue reading the main story “I cannot see QPR putting up much resistance. Harry Redknapp is already talking about next season” Newcastle are yet another struggling team who need a win to ease their problems, although even a point could see them safe if Wigan get beaten by Arsenal on Tuesday. The Magpies' point at West Ham last weekend was a big one, courtesy in many ways of the return of Fabricio Coloccini to their defence, and his authority will make a big difference here too. I cannot see QPR putting up much resistance. Rangers boss Harry Redknapp is already talking about next season and, even if his players are not thinking about their summer holidays, there are far too many mistakes in that team for them to hold out. Prediction: 1-2 That's us buggered then
The Fish 10965
Newcastle v Hull I look at Newcastle now and I see a team that is settling down after a turbulent summer. When they went to Morecambe in the League Cup at the end of August and were almost behind at half-time, people were already talking about their manager Alan Pardew being on his way out. Three weeks later, they have got seven points from four games. To be fair to Pardew, he has always said 'judge me when I have got the majority of my players fit'. At the moment he has got that, and the judgement is that they have made a good start to the season. Hull have also picked up some points but their problem is that while they are a decent team which plays some nice football, they have not got a goalscorer. The Tigers don't struggle to make chances; they simply cannot take them. Prediction: 2-0 Match preview Newcastle v Hull If Newcastle keep their players fit then they've got the talent in their squad to make things happen. There's not lorryloads of players around that can create something out of nothing, but they've got two top-drawer guys in Hatem Ben Arfa and Yohan Cabaye in the same team and Loic Remy could be a good signing for them as well. However, Hull are always difficult to beat. They'd have been disappointed not to win their fixture last week after going 1-0 up against Cardiff because I think they are a decent side defensively. Newcastle's key players will need to be at their best to open them up and I think this will be a narrow home win.
