Toonraider 0
Who has one? and which type do you reccomend? We've been looking into buying one in the sales, but its not that simple to make a choice im not sure which to go for. A DVD, a mini DV or a Hard drive type? (though those are expensive) Each seems to have its selling points. Heres a couple we're interested in http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quick...efinement=11006 although someone said another model of cannon whined a bit and someone said the whole range of Sony HC cameras had slightly dodgy reliability http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/120614/rb/24074246629

A 12 year old would have great difficulty building one of those cars AND funding it. Its his hobby man...you know, something you do to give you an interest, keep you off the streets and take part in competition too. Its possible to actually make this sport your full time job...its huge!! ps. I know you're just trying to wind me up!! Have you got a hobby Bianca? Gemmill 44112
If you've got a computer with a firewire port then get a mini-DV. You'll be able to upload the video to your computer and edit it there. Oh yes, an opinion on everything.
sammynb 3342
For once toonraider our know it all gemmill is actually right, kind of anyway. Buy a mini-DV (mdvc) camera. Hard disk and dvd recording cameras may seem more convenient but there are still issues with their recording formats with image glitches and drop-outs. The best vote of confidence is to look at what is being used in television production. They don't make dvd broadcast cameras and hard disk broadcast cameras are few and far between because they are unreliable. Where big Scotty is wrong is most domestic cameras, regardless of their recording format, have firewire ports for importing into computer non-linear editing systems.
