Guest alex
I've barely been to Manc (only as a nipper) Liverpool is a fucking shit-tip imo though. I've been plenty times too.
Renton 21250
Did anyone see Gold Plated? As an aside, the ending of that program was horrific. What was the ending like? I didnt see any of it and dunno what it is? It was a drama centering around the life of a building developer in Manchester, who has since moved to Cheshire. In the end he goes back to Salford to find his "roots", and gets lynched by a gang of charvers. It's like dawn of the dead, except much more frightening. If you get the chance, watch the last 20 minutes, I guarantee you'll have nightmares.
Gemmill 44325
Only been to Liverpool a couple of times, and it looks like a fucking dump to me. I liked Manc though from what I've seen of it. Big city feel without being too big.
Renton 21250
Basically as long as we stay ahead of Leeds and Liverpool then I'm happy. In what way are you ahead? The size of your tower blocks? Yeah. And every other way tbf. But the skyline is the most important to me. Both cities are shit tips outside the centres tbh, but then so is Newcastle. Liverpool has far superior architecture though.
Guest alex
Apart from the Albert Dock area the achitecture is pretty awful in Liverpool city centre iirc. And most of what is nice is derelict. I haven't been for a few years though tbf.

City of culture has made a difference tbh. The centre was bombed in WW2 and in the main isn't nice. I'm not a fan of Victorian architecture in the main, which is when Manchester was built. manc-mag 1
Liverpool has some awesome civic architecture dotted about but the rest of the city is a complete shit tip. If it had it all grouped together like the toon does on Grey Street then it would be a lot better. Come to think of it I dont know what other city outside of London has a single street as impressive as Grey Street? Bath maybe? http://www.freefoto.com/browse.jsp?id=1043-06-0 Quality. Would love something like that in Manc.
Guest alex
Isn't the dock area in Liverpool Victorian?
Scottish Mag 3
I finished yesterday so I think it'll just be loafing about the house today. Was meant to be meeting a friend for dinner and drinks later but though heading up to Glasgow the Friday before Christmas would be a nightmare so postponed it until after the New Year. Renton 21250
They should do something with Grey street though. Maybe pedestrianise it and get some street cafes running. Alex, the Albert dock does look Victorian, although I guess the docks predate that era. I don't like that area that much though.

manc-mag 1
And whilst I have nowt against Brummies, Birmingham is horrible. The Bull Ring is canny impressive like nowadays, since the re-vamp. The rest of the place is a complete write-off though. Mind you, Wolverhampton makes it look like the Champs Elysees by comparison.

Probably try and get a ticket for the Sheffield United match though. Its got two nice streets - West Street where all the pubs are, and Division Street which is full of posh designer shops. Thats about it! Maybe its just because I live there and i'm sick of seeing the same sights, but it is pretty shit.
