Can't stand sci-fi or fantasy films, think they're all pants. Can't see why everyone absolutely loves LOTR, i've barely met anyone who didn't enjoy it like me. It's the sequel to Clerks (which you can pick up in HMV cheap nowadays). Clerks II should be getting a DVD release over here in the next few months. Mallrats is canny too, as is Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay & Silent Bob Strike back.

Mallrats is canny too, as is Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay & Silent Bob Strike back. Mallrats was on tv the other day and after previously being indifferent, I decided I hate it. The whole film is basically like the contest at the end, shit and unfunny but slightly redeemed by Jason Lee.
Papa Lazaru 0
I've read enough reviews of Eragon to tell me to avoid it and yet again be disappointed at them wasting the chance to make good fantasy films meaning there will then be more money and more desire to may further fantasy films. Jonathon Ross' review was the best guide for me as he is a fan of fantasy stuff and like me wants more great fantasy films like LOTR so when he rubbished it he was disappointed at yet another failed opportunity. But instead they churn out something bad and the chance is gone again. I haven't read the books myself but i have no idea why they chose that one ahead of loads of other fantasy novels i've read that would make better films. Papa Lazaru 0
James King said it completely ripped off the plot of Star Wars on R1 the other day Apparently the books have been accused of ripping off LOTR, star wars and other fantasy material in general. I think its often percieved as a re-hash of alot of other material, but as i haven't read them i could say for sure.

The Fish 11079
Mate is a big fan of the Books so we all went to watch it, the acting is awful, the story IS Star Wars, the script is toecurling-ly shocking and the strong cast offer and weak performance. there are a couple of unintended laugh out loud moments, Our hero, dressed no longer as a poor farm boy being raised by his uncle (oh, why not just call him Luke and be done with it.) looks in a battered but shiney shield and says of the massively distorted reflection "I barely recognise myself" Of course not you fuckmook it's like trying to get your reflection from a shiny bust of Brian Adams' face! Eragon- Luke Brom- Old Ben Kinobe Aria (?)- Lea That roguish charming bastard- Hans Solo... who clearly should have had a bear or something.... it's set up for a sequel which not only will I refuse to watch, but I intend to make sure not one poor bastard has to sit through it
Happy Face 29
Star Wars wasn't exactly original in coming up with the hero/teacher/sidekick/princess scenario tbh.
