Matt 0
Who's got Sky HD? We're getting a new HD TV and seeing as the video is also knackered, it seems the obvious choice to upgrade to the Sky HD box with the inbuilt HDD. My question is how much have people been able to negotiate Sky down on the install and box charges? I know they give a little over the phone, but it would be handy to know how far they'll go. We've got an existing subscription for normal Sky Digital and have done for years.
Sima 0
Currys are doing 1/2 price if you buy ANYTHING in store. HD is awesome tbh, although the channels are a bit limited at the minute.
Kid Dynamite 6985
£300 for the box and £10 a month to watch channels you already have. But in a slightly better picture. NER NA!

Greg 6
Watched HD for the first time yesterday, saw the first 20 mins of Man United V Man City and I thought it was amazing. The quality was fantastic.

nufc4ever 0
Bear in mind that it's pretty pointless unless your HDTV is over 32". I wanted it but I can't justify the cost for six channels or whatever; Sky is dear enough as it is. Also, my LCD is 27". ewerk 30221
Are there any plans to extend the number of HD channels on Sky? Not really worth it at the minute for the few that are available.
Sima 0
Not that much HD material out there to justify setting up more channels. The only real old stock material that can be made to HD is movies and and there are already two HD movie channels. There are a lot of documentaries in HD as well, but there are already 3 of those. Kid Dynamite 6985
Like i said NER NA! My mates dad has too much money for his own good and has SKYHD. He also has an ambi-light TV. Its like an ordinary TV but twice as much cos it has a light behind it that changes colour. Im going to stick a disco light behind mine just to piss him off. Sima 0
Ambi-lights blatantly the shittest gimmick ever.
Gemmill 44273
A tenner a month for a better picture is a rip-off tbh. Doesn't make the programme any better. It's gonna need to be free before I sign up.
Matt 0
I assume you can just buy the box but not the subscription as the HD box has full Sky+ capability. Having seen some screens in Currys it's looking like something 40-42" screen size, replacing the miniscule mono-speakered thing currently in use. I am pleading with the family to wait till January and get Godknowshowmuch more for the £££ than in the Christmas buildup.
