Toon Pair Back In Training

GLENN Roeder was handed a double injury boost on Friday morning when Kieron Dyer and Damien Duff stepped back out onto the training field.

Roeder said last week that he was monitoring Dyer "day-by-day" after the midfielder suffered a badly gashed leg in the 1-0 home win over Portsmouth last month.

And the England international made a welcome return to training on Friday as the squad finalised their preparations for Saturday's trip to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers.

Duff, meanwhile, had to undergo knee surgery after picking up an injury in the 1-1 draw at Arsenal but was able to leave the gym this morning and start some light running work with the physios.

:)

From todays Chron

Meanwhile, Roeder says reports that United have agreed a £2.5m fee with Zenit St Petersburg for their striker Alexander Kerzhakov are "complete rubbish".

Though he doesn't deny bidding £2.5m for him.

Aye, we need to watch him at least 37 times before we decide whether we're going to bid or not.

if dyer and duff are back for blackburn i fancy our chances of making it three wins on the bounce.

we could finish the weekend nearer midtable than the bottom.

vital that we do with chelsea coming up. lose blackburn and we could be right back in the shit.

it's a tight league this year. 40 points might not be enough to stay up

Missing are Carr, Dyer, Duff, Moore, Parker, Ameobi, Owen, Bramble, Bernard, Harper and Krul.

Duff, Carr and Dyer have returned to training now but Wednesday's away game at Chelsea will probably come to early for the trio.

Hmmm.... :)

Dyer defo out for tomorrow according to Roeder on .co.uk.

Back for the Watford game. If Duff is only starting to run today after an operation, I reckon he'll be a couple of weeks at least.

Hopefully we'll start getting a few players back for the festive period of games.

T Bramble - calf - 26th Dec 06

K Dyer - gashed leg - no return date very doubtful

S Harper - sports hernia - 26th Dec 06

S Parker - back no return date - very doubtful

D Duff - knee - 26th Dec 06

C Moore - hamstring - 26th Dec 06

S Carr - bruised toe - 13th Dec 06 - very doubtful

Return dates according to Physioroom.com

how can dyer still be out with a gash in his leg when he was running around apprantly fine 5 minutes after it happened during the match?

i'm prediciting another liver/hamstring complaint that will keep him out for the next 6 months

Maybe it got infected?

Maybe the stitches have only just come out? Or maybe they haven't taken the stitches out?
