emre on the left wing?

when parker regains fitness, you'd expect him to walk back into the side since he's captain.

but do either butt or emre deserve to be dropped? they've been two of our better midfielders recently. on current form nzogbia should probably be the one to miss out - he hasn't been nearly as good as last year - and duff is still out.

emre apparantly did well wide on the left for inter. anyone reckon he could do a job there? might give him more of a licence to get foward than playing alongside parker in the middle.

Inter played with a diamond shaped midfield so he never actually played left wing, more a left sided midfielder.

Roeder needs his head looked at if he breaks up Emre and Butt in the middle.

so what of parker?

does roeder have the balls to drop his skipper or do we go back to 4-3-3 when we've finally won back to back games playing 4-4-2?

Parker doesn't deserve to be in the starting 11 on current form, making him captain instead of Given was a big mistake.

Don't agree with that at all. Keepers should never be captain, they're worse than strikers. Your captain should be in the thick of things so ideally should be a centre midfielder then a centreback.

Parker was the perfect choice for us and his performances up to that point more than merited it. The problem with Parker is the way Roeder is playing him. He is either playing him as our attacking midfielder with Emre left to sit or he is telling them to keep switching with each other. I can't decide which but either way it isn't working because Parker plays much better when he's the one to sit and Emre is much better when he attacking.

When Butt is playing Roeder understands which way to play the two of them but can't seem to see the obvious with Parker.

so what would you do if all three were fit?

would be harsh to leave out butt on current form

Emre, Butt and Milner looked class on wednesday where as Zoggy was very poor against Reading so its a straight choice betwen Parker or Zoggy imo as the other three are undropable atm. Parker is 50 - 50 anyway so Roeder may not get the luxuary of a choice but if Parker were fit i'd have to try to make room for him and considering we are away i'd go:

Given

Nobby Taylor Ramage Baba

Milner Butt Parker Emre

Martins Sib

Pav

Car?

Huntingdon

Pattison

Zoggy

It's a tough one. Overall I would pick Parker and Emre and play them the right way. I think this is our best pairing. But at the moment I don't think you can drop Butt who is playing extremely well.

Of the team that played on Wednesday I think the only two players that you could fairly drop would be Babayarou and N'Zogbia and it all depends on who is fit. If Parker is fit and Dyer isn't I would probably go with Emre on the left of centre (not quite left wing) and Parker and Butt in the middle.

If both Parker and Dyer are fit I would probably be tempted to play Dyer on the left and leave Parker on the bench.

As ever we are waiting to see how fit our players are before we can make the decision.

I know this is slightly off topic but I feel I should also mention that in no way should Carr be allowed anywhere neear the team. Actually I think I will change my sig to this to save me having to type it in every post.

If he drops or moves either of them just so he can bring Parker back in i'll be livid.

That'll concern him.

Livid in the same way that you wanted Coventry to beat us a couple of years back? ;)

Exactly the same way :D

Somewhat irrelevent now.

In future fixtures.

I meant more if his injury is serious.

Being as its NUFC and we are cursed i reckon it'll be a bloody achiles injury and he'll end up out for the season knowing our luck. He seemed to be caught on in the achilles area and when the physio came on he straight away signalled that Emre was fucked, and it doesn't look good.

Its unbelievable whats happenign to us with injuries. We finally get a little run going even though we have hardly any fit players, then with Emre looking likes he's running into his best form he gets crocked, Nobby who's been excellent at RB gets injured and it just goes on.
