Isegrim 10041
He was sitting 5m away from me (in the first half). Didn't hear me. Shame as I got granted special permissions from catmag to use certain words...

Brock Manson 0
Just seen this comment: "...if Antoine Sibierski's late shot had not been cleared off the line..." Hmmmm, could have sworn it was a header A header is technically a shot. It counts as a shot on goal. I know he's shite, but give him some credit. snakehips 0
As much as agreeing with Brock causes me severe emotional trauma, he's right. Bollox. In this instance, a good reporter would have written: '...if Sibierski's header had not been blocked on the line...' Anything else is just bollox, no two ways about it. Matty 0
So if someone said... "Sib scored from a great shot after a cross by Milner against Celta Vigo.." And then you seent he goal and it was a header you wouldn't think they were wrong? I know it counts as an effort on goal but a header isn't a shot, it's a header. The whole point about a newspaper article is that people read it. It is written to describe something that happened. As you say, to allude to a chance on goal as a 'shot' when in fact it was a header, is just shit journalism as it gives someone who hasn't seen the incident the wrong information. End of. Brock Manson 0
When they count the shots/attempts on goal at the end of the match, do they have an extra column for headers? A header is a shot on goal.

We're not disputing that it doesn't go down as an effort on target, but the fact that someone called it "Sib's shot..." when it was a header! Ya knaa, with his head! Technically it's a shot though. Fair enough pick up on when Oliver puts his usual crap down, but in this instant it's simply clutching at straws for the sake of slagging him off. Although had Oliver said "effort" in the first place, everyone would be happy.
