Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
BRISTOL is the cheapest city for a night out – at just £12.16 for booze, food, transport and entertainment.London was the most expensive of ten cities studied at a whopping £32.85 for a good time. And Geordies will be shocked that Newcastle – one of the cheapest nights out in the same study last year – is now Britain’s second costliest party town. Researchers for the Young Persons Railcard looked at the price of ten items, including a pint and a bag of chips. The good news is the UK average of £20.29 was DOWN £6 on last year’s study. Find out below how your favourite city fared. Ally 0
Hardly a night out, 1 pint?! Must have to have about 1 sip every 20 minutes.

The Fish 11114
if you recalculate to include two taxi fares, 4 pints, 3 games of pool, 1 club entrance, 3 more pints and a kebab.. and average weekend night out for many. London= £54.6 Newcastle= £46 Glasgow= £41.5 Liverpool= £40 Leicester= £39.5 Sheffield= £34.99 Leeds= £32 Cardiff= £31.35 Manchester= £29.5 Bristol= £25.79 Makes you wonder, how the fuck people afford it every friday/sat night. MattM4 0
You can get around in Portsmouth too for round about £30... whether you'd want to though is another question.
The Fish 11114
I can go out to the pub, a few bars and then a club for under £30 in Leeds, but that's sharing a taxi between 3-4 people. helps if you know the guys on the door and the people behind the bar as well. It's entirely possible to have a night out, get free entry into clubs and doubles for the price of singles for the entire night.
peasepud 59
How the fuck did they work this out thoug? are they saying that every club in Bristol is free while all toon ones are £6? or more probably did they just go to the first club they saw and took the price there? No matter how cheap it was I couldnt fancy a night oot in Bristol like.
Guest alex
Probably not all that accurate but I've said for years that drinking in the toon, especially certain (albeit utterly shite) Quayside bars is pretty much as expensive as drinking around Covent Garden. Only if offering special favours to the bouncers eh fish I was under the impression that the majority of bouncers in leeds hate students with a passion and wouldnt tend to go out of their way to let them in for nowt? Don't think that's inaccurate at all. We've definitely been in a few bars round Covent Garden where a round of drinks has been cheaper than an equivalent one in Newcastle.
