Asprilla 96
I thought we might struggle when the group was announced but fair play.... Well done chaps, what what!!
Holden McGroin 6457
I've gone tight off Roeder, he did not play one reserve player. The result was un-important we were already through. He took the chance of more starters getting injured when he could have given some reserves a run-out. But now we are unbeaten in 6. Another clean sheet (6 goals conceded in 12). Keeps the momentum going. We dont play for 6 days so plenty of time for a rest. I dont see the problem.
janu 0
So much for the Group of Death... Keep 'em coming tbh. As Holden mentioned, our defence has improved significantly since Pearson arrived. I think thats the only positve thing from tonights game. Our midfield and attack was awful. Taylor was my MOM, he looks more confident and composed. And Nobby is our best right back - FACT!

Have to say i was against playing the likes of Milner and Zog who were recently injured, but i would have definitely kept the same back four to keep them working as a unit. Any defence that keeps getting clean sheets and isn't conceding many is doing its job and currently our is, and as people have said Nobby is a part of that. I would like to say if but sadly it will be WHEN Roeder drops Nobby for Carr we will see us struggle more down the right hand side and alot less attacking play start from that area of the pitch and we will be the worse for it. JawD 99
Well, it was still pretty important to get the point to ensure we won the group meaning we wont face a CL dropout team in the next round.

Need to offload Luque and Shambles ASAP i.e. In Jan Plus think Roeder did the right thing in his team selection as certain players needed the practice of playing together i.e. Nobby in his new defensive role geling with defence and milner etc did think Huntingdon should have been tried out though. sweetleftpeg 0
Sat back and invited them on. I know it was allegedly a good result to get a point, but we all we do is make ourselves look shit tbh. We've become one of those teams that used to come to SJP scared shitless and try to fight for the point that we'd all get pissed off at. You know the one, the Southamptons of the world who ultimately win fuck all.
janu 0
Good to get a clean-sheet, but I agree, the 4-5-1-formation and the "lone-striker"-thing was a pathetic approach, and didn't work at all. Considering Frankfurts recent form, both domestic and european, I think we could have won the match if we had the courage to attack more. A 4-4-2 with Sib and Martins on the top would have eased the pressure imo. Edited December 1, 2006 by janu
The Fish 10674
I can understand resting Martins, when it's clear that the League is important, but even with Q and Sib up front together we looked a more balanced side. We haven't the players to make a 4-5-1 work imo.
khay 10
Was a little drunk for the match, which tbh we where lucky to get a point from. Luque did fuck all and Marntins made us better when he came on. Hope we can carry this current form on to the league for reading next week wich we really need to win. Kevin Carr's Gloves 3788
I thought Luque was woeful did nothing in attack and very little in defence.
Guest alex
Aye, Luque offered absolutely nothing imo. A complete waste of space. It was like playing with 10 men most of the time. Sell him as soon as we can I reckon.
sweetleftpeg 0
Yup, enough is enough with Luque like. Regardless of how good or bad he is, he's playing like he doesn't want to be here and as a result we're carrying him. He was awful last night. I know we were playing a defensive game, but the Sib was putting in the effort.

He took the chance of more starters getting injured when he could have given some reserves a run-out. The result of last night's game was NOT unimportant. Yes, we were already through, but we needed to secure top spot to ensure a more favourable draw in the next round. Had we finished second, we'd have played one of the teams joining from the Champions League. We were on the back foot and Frankfurt should have put away some of the chances they had, but I thought the defence held up well. We were subjected to a lot of pressure but stood up to it. Meenzer 15347
Well it was a canny enough experience from the away end, I suppose, given the entertainment on offer on the pitch. The usual "just stand anywhere" policy meant I had to endure 15 minutes of being shoulder-to-shoulder with a charmingly racist chap who insisted on singing "Eng-er-land" whenever we sang "Newcastle" and shouting Nazi- and Hitler-themed comments at random moments, but what can you do? Good laugh otherwise, including catching up with our very own Matt (& co.) and Isegrim beforehand, and job done as regards topping the group. It's not every day you get to chant "we are top of the league" and mean it. Sort of.
