Gemmill 46032
Willing to pay £10m apparently. Won't be long before we're clinging to their coat tails imo. It could and should have been so very different if someone was running this club properly. A pre-emptive fuck off to Leazes for his filled post about what a great job Shepherd has been doing. 17th in the league and going nowhere. That's us. West Ham, Spurs, Villa, clubs that we could scoff at a few years ago, all leaving us behind.
Sima 0
tbf people said the same thing when they unveiled Tevez and Mascherano, don't see how this is any different.
Gemmill 46032
Because the Tevez and Mascherano thing always looked a bit fishy tbh. If this is the standard of player they're investing in, they'll leave us behind imo. Also, Shepherd and Roeder should take note - approaching clubs about their players prior to January is permitted, the player just can't move until then. Might be an idea lads given how successful you were in three months over the summer.
Sima 0
Yeah but Tevez and Mascherano are far more high-profile than SWP. He won't make that much of a difference as he isn't really as good as people make out and god knows how much his confidence and self-belief have been dented being stuck in the wilderness at Chelsea. Christ, Duff got more games than him (and was more highly regarded) and he looks half the player now. Edited November 25, 2006 by Sima

Missed Sticks 0
I doubt we'll have £10m to splash on a RW anyway. Would be a god additional imo, much better the Milner and more athletic than Nobby. Might be an idea to ask for a loan move with a fixed fee agreed at the season's end. Our efforts will be directed to FB's and a target man i should imagine.

Gejon 2
Excellent player but the last place we need to be spending £10m on is RW!
@yourservice 67
I'm sure Ian would have a few words of wisdom about joining a club struggling.

I'm not saying that Wright-Phillips isn't better than Milner... But £10m? And Milner would be going for around £3-4m? He's not that much better. snakehips 0
SWP was a bright prospect at Citeh (football club of the greatest supporters in the history of football. FACT. Ever.) but he seems to have hit a brick wall since going to Chewsee. There's no need for him here and, at £10m, he wont be coming anywhere near NE1 anyway. He's a quality player no doubts, but we surely have other priorities i.e. fullbacks/Center backs and even big strikers to fill before we bring in yet another very small quick player in. We could do with a bit of height in our net few players too!Other than Sib up front we have no midfield players who are tall and good in the air! I'd rather we splashed our cash on Luke young from Charlton and Matty taylor from Pompey.
Gemmill 46032
We are apparently being linked with an ELEVEN MILLION POUND January swoop for Harewood, so that's where they're getting the money for SWP from.

Gemmill 46032
Someone posted it on NO. Tribalfootball I think, so hopefully it's bollocks. He's worth 3 or 4 at a push IMO.
