Meenzer 15347
The capitalisation of the thread title led me to believe that this would be an official news story. Unless it is - this is Australia we're talking about, I suppose...
sweetleftpeg 0
I'll put money on him then coming out of retirement in 4 or 5 years, claiming 'I've missed the sport and want to see if I can still do it'. You can see it coming.

Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Unfair advantage, having size 17 feet. His competitors should have been allowed to wear flippers.

sammynb 3342
The only thing he's retiring from is swimming, he actually has to go out and get a job now, poor bastid. More than likely it's the perfect opportunity to finally come out of the closet and move to the states as entertainment reporter. Unfair advantage, having size 17 feet. His competitors should have been allowed to wear flippers. It might be unfair but he's a little bit touchy about it. A couple of years ago after an interview with a female television reporter, she turned to him and alluded to the fact that because his feet are so big he must be hung. This didn't go down to well with his sensitive soul so he sued her!

Woodgate27 0
Definately gay. Good luck to him. And as someone said he'll be back. Probably London 2012 and take a clean sweep of gold. But the question has to be asked... Who really cares about swimming? I end on this note - I saw this in Japan on my travels...

If he'd been British he'd have been shagging a plump 43 year old from Dudley in the back of a Vectra, thereby putting the 'Great' into Britain
