catmag 336
The usual bunch of C-list celebs being wheeled out in the name of fundraising tonight. Does anyone actually ever phone up and pledge money? I'll admit to watching it from time to time, and while I know it's a fantastic cause, I've never donated. Wonder what the newsreaders are doing this year...
Gemmill 44166
I've donated in the past, but I'm brassic at the mo, so I'm afraid they'll have to stay in need.
Meenzer 15350
I've both collected and donated in the past (and shaved my head ), but never owt grand. And certainly nothing involving a silly costume or Pudsey sodding Bear. Will stick a few quid in if someone rattles a jar under my nose this weekend, but I'd pay not to watch the actual show... Magma 0
I occasionally watch the show, never placed a pledge either.
ewerk 30167
This is the night that the newsreaders will have been looking forward to all year.
Craig 6670
Some twat at work has had his eyebrow (aye, it was a monobrow) waxed today! He wasn't impressed when I pointed out Paddy Kenny had pre-empted him by having his bitten off!
Guest Patrokles
As pointed out in a paper today, you can't really argue with anything that raises £33 million for kids who need it, regardless of how awful the evening's entertainment can be! Fair enough. Good cause, awful tv.
Tom_NUFC 0
I give to it sometimes, although having seen Look North the other night, with Children In Need money funding a Charver youth club in Blyth (encouraging that horrid hardcore sh!te) I've been put off. I suppose its better than them causing hassle on the street, but they really should be funding a Charver provention project, to invent, build and buy a machine of some sort where the kids go in on a conveyor belt and come out clensed of all charver characteristics. I will give something though. The other thing that gets me about Children In Need, and I say this every year, apart from the fact that the show is quite possibly the worst Television shown all year, is that there are some kids in desperate need in order to help them live their lives or even keep them alive and they're relying on the charity and kindness of people for this. Where is the government in all of this? What are they doing? We're supposed to have a welfare system. Britain is the fourth richest country in the world - the f*cking FOURTH RICHEST! Why aren't these kids being provided for? Truth be told, I find it sick and disturbing that this is the case. That children have to rely on kindness and something which is little more than a begging appeal for their lives. Its a damning indictment on the development of Ultra Capitalism and the callous, Thatcherite unravelling of the Welfare State. One day, it will go too far and snap. Jill 0
I can never stand these all night charity programmes like. They're always a guaranteed way to ensure I have a night out. I donated a few quid yesterday for a dress down day at work.. only I wasn't allowed to dress down because we had clients in for an audit. Fun.
