paddy 17
guys and gals, my neighbour is worried that his daughter has been visiting some dodgy websites, she is 13, she has her own logon on xp which has a password, everytime him or his wife goes into the room she closes explorer, he has just popped round to ask for my help (dunno why i'm clueless with pc's) he seems quite worried what with t'internet peados, so he wants to try and view her internet history from his account so she does not know he has been looking. i'm sure you understand the need cheers fellas and fellaesses
Guest Toplass-101
Not sure what you can do on the pc without knowing her password. Heres an activity monitor with a free trial. http://www.softactivity.com

Besty 4
Could put a key logger on the computer (runs hidden), will show what windows were open and what was typed/clicked and gets the odd screenshot.
Renton 22409
Maybe it would be better to talk to her about things before resorting to spying.
Tooj 17
NOT SAFE FOR WORK http://pix.nofrag.com/d6/02/303241d05c7f14721a2988f43a65.gif
MrBass 2811
If he's got an admin account on the PC then all he needs to do is look under her profile in the Temporary Internet Files folder - unless she's smart enough to clear this down everytime she shuts down the PC. Full path is C:\Documents and Settings\{USER_ID}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files The Local Settings folder is hidden so he'll need to either type it into the address bar manually or change the Explorer settings to display hidden files. ewerk 31591
NOT SAFE FOR WORK http://pix.nofrag.com/d6/02/303241d05c7f14721a2988f43a65.gif Anyway I'd suggest a program called PC Tattletale, it'll log all websites visited, IM conversations, will take screenshots as often as you want and log all keystrokes. I used it at work to find out that one of the workers was spending an inordinate amount of time on backstreetblowjobs.com when in the office on his own. snakehips 0
Am I alone in finding this 'worried about paedos' stuff a bit of an excuse to spy on his daughter's tinternet activity?? Maybe I'm wrong
JawD 99
I'd say you were wrong aye The fact of minimising the screen show guilt. However, a kid can be guilty about anything and it may actually be harmless. Happened to my mate who daughter was doing the same. Turned out she was reading harmless love stories but she was embarrassed by it. With all the shite on the net Im sure if I had kids Id want to know / control what they could look at. If I walk in here when hips jnr is on tinternet, he will quickly minimise the screen - IF, that is, he is on msn; so I can't see the line of messages/names etc. Nothing suspicious, he just knows I will take the piss out of him if I catch a glimpse of it. sweetleftpeg 0
I thought what Mr Bass said would work like. I've had to do that at work when we've had kids on IT courses and the filth I found on those temporary internet files would make Jimbo blush! themags 0
screen shots and key loggers is a bit of an invasion of her privacy you better of using some software that will tell you what websites she's been looking at I'd try talking to her first like
