Afternoon Geordies, Now last night's reserve match is out the way we can concentrate on the more important matter of Saturday's league game and the events before and after. Any Mags in need of good ale and wood fired pizza before/after our game are warmly invited to Preston's finest pub, The Moorbrook which is now in its third year since being saved from becoming flats. With seven cask pumps and five keg taps The Moorbrook on North Road (PR1 1NR) serves an array of traditional and modern ales from all over the UK and beyond including their own pale ale which is brewed specially by Blackjack brewery. For those not into real/craft ales there is a house belgium pilsner, Guinness, Thatchers Gold and Stella 4 as well as a number of German bottled beers. Also on offer are a wide range of wines and spirits including a number of specialist whiskys, gins and rums. A newly added outside bar will serve the house pale ale, pilsner and Thatchers. The current lineup includes beers from Sirencraft, Blackjack, Crafty Devil, Pig & Porter and Alchemy. For those in need of food there are wood fired pizzas freshly made before your eyes and ready in minutes. Prices range from £4-6 or £7 with a pint of cask ale/lager. Crisps, nuts and scratchings are also available. The Moorbrook is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from Preston railway station or a £5/6 taxi ride. It is then a 10 minute walk to Deepdale so a good halfway point. For those in a car/minibus/coach there is a huge car park to the rear courtesy of a recently closed B&Q which is £1 for 12 hours. For any further information please see Twitter (@themoorbrook) or Facebook (The Moorbrook) or give Rich a call on 01772 823320. See you on Saturday!
