I agree to a point but if its correct that 99% of deaths are people over 50 and that's then skewed even further by age within that then I think doing over 80s first isn't a bad idea. We all want a sensible rollout with the aim of ending this as soon as possible but reducing the daily wince at the new deaths feels good to me. I know there's a lag on infections to deaths of course.

US states - there's no squares and oblongs that angular in Africa or Asia. There are some straight lines in Africa but not as widespread as the US. I agree the empires drew dodgy borders but they weren't as straight.

I know it's tantamount to fascism but this supports one of my dark views that extreme leavers should be registered or labelled so they could be denied the benefits of the internationalism they despise. The hypocrisy of Farage and his ilk standing there taking the Pfizer jab sickens me.

It still left 20m without health care because the centrist cowards won't go for medicare for all despite its popularity in polls.
-
Says the bloke who got virtually nothing "done". I know he lost the senate which stymied him but maybe if he'd pitched more than fuck all he wouldn't have lost it in the first place.
-
I'd like to see the Oxford one firm up the 90% success figure with the dosing regime change. I might sneak into the Pfizer run as a fat over 55 with asthma.
-
In addition to playing Barnes in the first two games - I know Bobby is held up as infallible sometimes but starting Mark Hateley instead of Beardsley was a shocker.
-
I think the bill says a fortnightly review but Hancock "promised" weekly.
-
You're right that it was lack of over 55s on the half dose regime rather than it failing but I thought the need for more data and an extended trial just delays things a bit. Having said that if the US doesn't accept it that might make the initial UK delivery more sure. I had the impression the other two were stated to be good across the entire age range but perhaps more or clearer data is needed there too.
-
I was a bit depressed last night assuming the worst about the Oxford figure fiddling but you're right - 22.5 million over 55s and other vulnerable get Pfizer/Moderna and everybody else getting Oxford works out pretty well.
-
They're still peddling that shit about him signing for them. It is true Sheff Utd we're offered him when they signed Alex Sabella but the Mackem bullshit stinks.

Shilton is a fat cunt who cheated on his wife for balance.
-
I know it's easy to say for someone who doesn't do family xmases any more but waiting a few more months - maybe one of the may bank holidays rather than Easter will be fine - doesn't seem too much to ask. I realise some get togethers are "urgent" but still.
-
The clause the stupid cunts are using only applies to 25 named barons. That document has fuck all to do with "the people".
-
The 70% is the average - they've devised a dosing regime that's 90% effective. Also nobody who got the vaccine and did still get it was seriously ill which is great.
-
I think the war/conflict blame game is the "minor" downside of religion for me as I accept the human nature angle - it's the insidious anti-reason and nonsensical bollocks that pollutes people's brains that bothers me. And thats before the fuckers pass laws to enshrine said bollocks and affect rational people with their nonsense.
-
Regarding the middle East, it's worth pointing out there is a large and powerful Christian lobby who see conflict there as a fundamental part of their end times fantasy and are willing to do anything to achieve it.
-
I don't accept the West is post religious. The US certainly isn't and many countries are still intrinsically bound to religion and their evil twin monarchies all over Europe. There may be a reduced Sunday congregations in the UK but the link with religion through weddings, funerals and of course education is still central to the British way of life. And thats before you consider the adherence to non-Christian religions.

An unintentional cunt though.....

Newcastle United: Club Sold To PCP - Official
NJS replied to The Mighty Hog's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think toning it down from "I'm suing you bastards for being corrupt" to "let's go to arbitration" is a bit of a change. They'll still block it anyway of course. -
To be honest, you know I support a very left wing agenda and hope Starmer at least embraces it to a reasonable degree but I'd be more than happy to see these one-man cultists fuck off permanently. I'm sure there'll be enough decent left wingers who stay.

Thing is the methodology where 100 people get it and 95 had the placebo and 5 the vaccine then assumes all 100 had the same exposure. I suppose people who know statistics better than me can account for the 30k trial participants in this but it would be "good" though a tad unethical if they carried out those challenge tests where they give people the virus. Obviously they would be skewed by insistence on young/healthy people but I think it would reassure some doubters.
-
The price is just an American firm adding cunt to the mix which shouldn't affect the UK but it is a pisser for the rest of the world. Maybe the Oxford one will be the same as its monkey trials where it was more of a severity reducer than a preventer and that could be used for the population at large while leaving the better ones for the vulnerable.
-
I'm a little concerned that too much weight has been given to the Oxford one - just reading we have 350m across six vaccines which is good but I would hope we don't have to settle for a slightly inferior one just because it's easy or convenient or even worse because it British.

Moderna vaccine 94.5% effective. Isn't on the list of UK pre-bought list but they're trying now. All according to Peston.
