What was wrong with a second referendum was that too many people were sick of it and wanted it finished - as well as the "we won so we don't want another vote" crowd. Has there been an example of democracy "winning" in any Islamic country? There was a lot of hope around that "Arab Spring" but iirc places like Egypt just voted for cunts as soon as they got the chance. Of course there will be forward looking people with hope in all of these countries but at the moment they're probably still the minority - time may change that of course.

From what I understand, Trump laid the groundwork by releasing all of the Taliban leaders and giving them carte blanche but Biden has compounded this to the nth degree by just basically saying "fuck it".
